Cute Lil' Turtle

Even kids can be crazy about cake decorating and this cute little turtle was created by a 10 year old enrolled in my Introduction to Cake Decorating for Youth Series.

Kids develop self-esteem, brush up on math skills, hand-eye coordination, following instructions, and taking turns....and at the end of class, have a beautiful work of edible art to share with family and friends. Who knew cake decorating could be so much fun!

Winter White Bas Relief Doves

I had a blast teaching this Bas Relief Love Birds class.  Bas Relief is part of my "needlework" series.  The next class will be my quick version of satin stitch monograms.

Festive Gumpaste Poinsettias

My senior students had a lot of fun making gumpaste poinsettias and were quite proud to show them off to the staff.  I find that teaching is not only fun but pushes me out of my box to be more creative and responsive as a sugar artist.
